No 2.º Fórum da Agropecuária Biológica dos Açores, realizado em 2022, foi abordado o conceito de Bio-Região incentivado pela Comissão Europeia e explorada a sua aplicabilidade aos Açores. Importa realizar iniciativas que permitam contribuir para uma futura candidatura a Bio-Região, promovendo a gestão sustentável do território baseada no modo de produção biológico e articulada com a cultura local. Foram também estabelecidas parcerias e sinergias com diversos agentes locais, nacionais e internacionais para o desenvolvimento de uma Bio-região e assim os Açores iniciaram os primeiros passos para a criação e implementação deste conceito na Região.
A realização do Fórum AçoresBio constituiu uma iniciativa inédita a nível regional desenvolvida pelo movimento Associativo da Agricultura e Pecuária dos Açores (através da Trybio – Associação de Produtores e Consumidores de Agricultura Biológica, da Cooperativa Bioazorica – Produtos de Agricultura Biológica e da Federação Agrícola dos Açores), em parceria com o Governo Regional, por intermédio da Secretaria Regional da Agricultura e do Desenvolvimento Rural.

A convite da Câmara Municipal de Idanha-a-Nova, 1ª Bio-Região de Portugal e finalista da 1ª edição dos prémios da Agricultura Biológica da União Europeia, com o objetivo de promover a rede e as Bio-Regiões portuguesas envolvidas, é aproveitada a oportunidade para dar a conhecer os produtos MPB dos Açores na principal feira do sector a nível mundial – a BioFach.
Portanto, com o objetivo de promover a agropecuária biológica dos Açores, na BioFach, em Nuremberga, Alemanha, de 14 a 17 de fevereiro de 2023, foi feita uma exposição com produtos certificados em modo de produção biológico.
Foram selecionados diversos produtos agropecuários que representam a Região Autónoma dos Açores, arquipélago de origem vulcânica situado no oceano Atlântico Norte. Estes produtos dão a conhecer os sabores e saberes das várias ilhas e representar diferentes sectores: apicultura, fruticultura, pecuária, horticultura, etc.
A exposição, que leva o nome Azores Volcanoes flavours (em inglês) / Açores – sabores dos vulcões (em português) é acessível virtualmente através da criação de um QRCODE.

At the 2nd Azores Organic Farming Forum, held in 2022, the concept of Bio-Districts encouraged by the European Commission was addressed, and its applicability to the Azores was explored. It is essential to carry out initiatives that contribute to a future candidacy for Bio-Districts, promoting the sustainable management of the territory based on the organic production method and articulated with the local culture. Partnerships and synergies were also established with various local, national and international agents to develop a Bio-Districts. Thus, the Azores began the first steps towards creating and implementing this concept in the Region.
The AçoresBio Forum was an unprecedented initiative at a regional level, developed by the Associative movement for Agriculture and Livestock of the Azores (through Trybio – Association of Producers and Consumers of Organic Agriculture, Cooperativa Bioazorica – Produtos de Agricultura Biológica and the Agricultural Federation of the Azores ), in partnership with the Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Rural Development.

At the invitation of the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, 1st Bio-Districts of Portugal and finalist of the 1st edition of the Organic Agriculture Awards of the European Union, to promote the network and the Portuguese Bio-Districts involved, the opportunity to make MPB products from the Azores known at the leading fair in the sector worldwide – BioFach.
Therefore, to promote organic farming in the Azores, at BioFach, in Nuremberg, Germany, from February 14 to 17, 2023, an exhibition was held with products certified in organic production.
